TRAINING JIBBERISH
First run in a while that I felt comfortable running. I was able to at least hold a steady pace of 7:06 for the 6.6 mile loop. Better than Wednesday nights run that was about ten levels higher in effort only to come up :10/mile slower.
Bailed on the main part of last nights ride. I rode the 18 miles down to the shop alone and froze my ass off. When I got there only one other guy showed and the weather was getting worse so we went for wings and a beer instead of the planned 30 mile route.
Supposed to snow tommorow
My hands are still frozen from this freaking run and I can’t type anymore.
Usual warm up followed by 20×100 on 1:30. I was able to cruise them all at 1:15. This is good for me so I’m happy with it.
Tried running in what turned out to be some brutal wind! It was nice enough for shirtless running but it was super windy.
I had to work really hard to only avg 7:15′s. Depressing
6:30am Winkky was at the pool and brought his “imagination” with him for practice. 25 x 100 on 1:30……. ok?
we mixed it up a little and did it:
75 (breast)
75 (back)
100 (free)
Came in on the 1:06ish for the strokes and 1:09-1:11ish for the Free’s. Turned out to be a good workout.
Ran after work. 6.6 @ 7:00……. not great, but not bad since the run mileage has been NOTHING for far too long.
Horseheads Thrashers Swim Banquet right after, MMMMMMMM Pudiges Pizza
Swam in the morning for a couple laps.
The legs refused to run/bike tonight, so it was Fam Damily time. Got some walking in with the Wife and picked up my new bike shoes from Kingsbury’s Cyclery. Can’t wait to get them as smelly as the last pair I rotted out! Thanks Paul!
Got me a new set of ZIPPs today! Everyone loves themselves a new toy or two right?

Buddy of mine was selling a set of Firecrest 606′s at a price I couldm’t afford to pass up. It’s not how much you SPEND it’s how much you SAVE! Right?
Anyways…Rode them tonight out to the group ride. Legs were feelin’ yesterday’s workout pretty strong. Got to the group and sent off on a great ride for March. Can’t complain when you get to taste blood! Got crushed on the hills, can’t wait to lose some of this weight I’m carrying around with me.
Found a great place to do some laps.
Monday nights are now officially for kicking my ass!
Join me and some friends for “The Machine*”. It doesn’t kill a man it just takes years off his life.
This week was the Mini Machine to start us off a little slower. It’s a duathlon format of R-B-R(-B-R)
Tonight was just R-B-R.
Times were not the fastest BUT we started a month earlier than normal so that’s to be expected. Can you say “Eye opener”? Running was a challenge with a total average of 6:15ish where that should be below 6:00 for this event. The bike was on pace, but the wind wasn’t there so it’s hard to compare. The good news is Shiva rolled as predicted, Perfect. I haven’t ridden Shiva since IMAZ! I do need to raise the seat up a smidgen which is consitant with my road bike moving up a smidgen as well? I wonder if my legs got longer?
oh well.
R1 10:54
T1 :27
B1 25:26
T2 :32
R2 11:39
Total 49:00 for the Mini……
*From Wiki: The Machine is a torture device invented by Count Rugen to drain the life out of a person a year at a time. When Westley is captured, he is tortured in The Machine. When Prince Humperdinck becomes angry with Buttercup he turns The Machine up to 50 nearly killing Westley. It is later learned from Miracle Max, that Westley is only mostly dead.
